Partnerships between A&M campuses in South Texas could shape the region’s growth

The fall semester is in full swing in Texas with exciting times for the Texas A&M University System. Not only does the system have a new leader in Chancellor Glenn Hegar, but it also has a new member university — Texas A&M University-Victoria, the erstwhile University of Houston-Victoria. Both of these changes have occurred against the backdrop of a larger ongoing paradigm shift in higher education nationwide, with institutions of higher education and their stakeholders needing to work hard to justify the importance of college education among an increasingly skeptical population.
